Tim Khayat was born in Grenoble France and started studying music at a young age, inspired by his father. He picked up the upright bass first, then quickly moved to the electric bass, performing in conservatories in France. After his move to America, Tim started playing professionally at the end of his high school year. then decided to study jazz bass at the College of Charleston under professor Frank Duvall. Tim quickly made his mark on the Charleston music scene as a reliable, versatile musician and has now been performing locally and regionally for several years. Khayat’s love for all kinds of music has led him to perform with cuban artists like Yusa and Gino Castillo, Brazilian singer/songwriter Duda Lucena, soul/rock powerhouse Elise Testone and Gospel/jazz artist Robbie Madison among many others, also plays for Seacoast Church in Mount Pleasant, SC. Khayat performs regularly around Charleston with many different groups, looking to grow in his musicianship and bring joy to others. Tim is currently working on his debut album which he plans on releasing at the beginning of next year.
